Barça was proclaimed this Saturday the champion of the 36ª edition of the NEXUS ENERGY ASOBAL League after mathematically certifying the title in the final stretch of the championship. The Blaugrana team thus adds a new league title to its record, which reaches 33 Leagues in the history of the section and 25 since the beginning of the ASOBAL era, also extending to 16 the streak of consecutive championships started in the 2010/2011 season.
The confirmation of the championship came with six rounds to spare and a 14-point lead already definitive over the second place, Dicorpebal Logroño La Rioja, in the final stretch of the course. The title was on track this Friday after the victory of the Catalan team against ABANCA Ademar León by 48-31, in a match in which the Catalan team added two new points to reach 48 in the standings. Afterwards, the defeat on Saturday of the Riojano team against IRUDEK Bidasoa Irun (32-34) allowed the mathematical certification of the league championship, thus consummating the season's alirón.
The project led by Carlos Ortega, who adds his sixth league title as a coach, has consolidated its position in the elite of Spanish handball in recent seasons, growing steadily in parallel to the evolution of the NEXUS ENERGY ASOBAL League, a competition that has steadily increased its level of demand, competitiveness and professionalization, requiring continuous adaptation to stay at the top.

In this context, national talent with the ASOBAL seal has had a significant weight in shaping the champion team. The offensive aspect has been key in the development of the championship, with Barça as the highest scoring team in the competition with 954 goals. In this section, Dani Fernández and Adrián Sola, an example of 'made in' ASOBAL talent, have led the scoring production of the Blaugrana team with 97 and 80 goals respectively.
This commitment is also reflected in the team's record, with the Spanish international Aleix Gómez as an exponent of talent formed and developed in the competitive context of the NEXUS ENERGY ASOBAL League. The Blaugrana winger is the player in the current squad with the most league titles, with a total of 12 Leagues, ahead of other locker room references such as Dika Mem (10) and N’Guessan (10). In this way, Barça has brought a new champion title to its trophy cabinet after exceeding the demands of a NEXUS ENERGY ASOBAL League that continues to raise its competitive level season after season, in a sports context that is increasingly equal and demanding for all teams in the domestic competition.
With the title already decided, the NEXUS ENERGY ASOBAL League now faces an exciting final stretch, with multiple objectives still in play. The fight for the runner-up takes on special relevance in these last six rounds, with several teams immersed in a direct fight for a position that is decisive for European classification. On the other hand, the fight for survival adds another point of interest to the final stretch of the championship. Different teams face the last rounds with the aim of ensuring their continuity in the top category, which guarantees excitement and intensity until the last match. The achievement of this league title not only allows the team from the City of Barcelona to add a new trophy to its trophy cabinet, but also ensures the presence of the Blaugrana team in the next edition of the EHF Champions League, thus consolidating its participation in the highest continental competition where it is an example of brilliance.
