These are the candidates for best left wing, pivot, and right wing of the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL 25/26!

The ?All Star ASOBAL 25/26? activates this Thursday the voting for three new award candidacies that recognize the talent, performance, and values of the great idols of the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL: the best left wing, best pivot, and best right wing. Fans of the ASOBAL Community will be able to take part in the selection process in the exclusive poll on the ASOBAL WhatsApp channel, available from now until Monday, June 22 at 10 a.m.

The five candidates for the award of best left wing of the professional competition are:

• Dani Fernández (Barça): the full international with Spain has returned to the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL as a leading figure, resuming his version as the awarded ?best left wing? of the professional competition in the 20/21 and 21/22 seasons. Fernández has been Barça?s top scorer with a total of 119 goals in 25 matches played, averaging 4.76 goals per game and an efficiency rate of 78% (the best figure in the entire circuit).
• Mario Dorado (Cajasol Ángel Ximénez Puente Genil): the left wing from Puente Genil has been one of the standout players in the second half of the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL, finishing the season at cruising speed. A candidate for the Nexus Energía MVP of May, Dorado has scored 130 goals, the highest-scoring left wing in the professional competition and the offensive leader of his Cajasol Ángel Ximénez Puente Genil. This is his second-best historical record in ASOBAL handball and the 10th best figure in the top scorers ranking of the current Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL season.
• Xabier Barreto (HORNEO BM. Alicante): the player from the Alicante team has had one of the great debuts in the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL. At 22 years old and being part of the ?ideal 7 of the matchday?, Barreto has been one of the key assets of the squad led by Roi Sánchez, which will continue for another year in the top tier of Spanish men?s handball. The left wing was the fourth top scorer for HORNEO BM. Alicante with 97 goals.
• Dani Pérez (Bada Huesca): the player from Nolasco?s team has had a great Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL season from the corner of the Palacio Municipal de Huesca. Dani Pérez has scored 93 goals, the fourth-best record for Bada Huesca, highlighting his matches against Fraikin BM. Granollers (8 goals) and SANICENTRO BM. Guadalajara (9 goals). The left wing has also achieved his second-best scoring record since his debut in ASOBAL handball.
• Pancho Lombardi (Dicorpebal Logroño La Rioja): the full international with Argentina has been a key piece in the performance of Dicorpebal Logroño La Rioja, who lifted the runner-up position in the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL this season. Lombardi has been the owner of the left wing position, scoring 71 goals and contributing defensive solidity and scoring ability, both positional and in transition.

The five candidates for the award of best pivot of the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL are:

• Esteban Salinas (IRUDEK Bidasoa Irun): the Chilean international has once again shown fundamentals and scoring from the pivot position at Artaleku. Salinas has scored 106 goals?his second-best record in ASOBAL handball?and has a 71% success rate, being a key piece in the schemes of IRUDEK Bidasoa Irun, fourth in the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL.
• Artur Parera (Bada Huesca): the Catalan player repeats as a candidate for the All Star ASOBAL after his best season in the elite of Spanish men?s club handball. Parera has scored 116 goals, his personal record, leading the top scorers ranking of Bada Huesca, taking another step in his consolidation as a new idol of ASOBAL handball.
• Adri Figueras (Fraikin BM. Granollers): the Catalan pivot has returned to the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL to be one of the protagonists of the 2025/2026 season. Figueras has scored 117 goals to be the third top scorer of Fraikin BM. Granollers and the second highest-scoring pivot in the professional competition.
• Iván Montoya (HORNEO BM. Alicante): the ?2? of HORNEO BM. Alicante has been one of the cornerstones of Roi Sánchez?s scheme in his first year at Pitiu Rochel. He has scored 111 goals, his second-best figure since the 2020/2021 season, to be the third top scorer of the Alicante team.
• Álvaro Martínez (Dicorpebal Logroño La Rioja): the full Spanish international has led the performance of the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL runner-up from the 6-meter line. A candidate for the Nexus Energía MVP of October, Martínez has been the fourth top scorer in the professional competition, with 137 goals and 79% effectiveness, the best figures among the pivot trio.

The five candidates for the award of best right wing of the professional competition are:

• Gonzalo Pérez Arce (ABANCA Ademar León): Nexus Energía MVP of April, the winger from León has been the best offensive specialist in the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL after scoring a total of 231 goals and averaging 7.97 per game, also a personal record in the professional competition. The scoring figure of the ABANCA Ademar León player has been the best in the last 20 years in ASOBAL handball, the seventh highest in its entire history, falling 40 goals short of the all-time record (Julio Fis, 271 goals in the 04/05 season).
• David Cadarso (Dicorpebal Logroño La Rioja): the left wing has closed his best season in Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL. Omnipresent in the offensive weight of Dicorpebal Logroño La Rioja, 24-year-old Cadarso has scored 165 goals, a personal record and the second-best figure in the top scorers ranking of the professional competition.
• Javi Muñoz (Bathco BM. Torrelavega): the veteran left wing has been one of the leaders of Bathco BM. Torrelavega in this last Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL. At 34 years old, Javi Muñoz has achieved his second-best scoring figure in the professional competition, 132 goals, ranking sixth in the top scorers list.
• Nicolò d'Antino (Frigoríficos del Morrazo): the seven-meter throw specialist from Frigoríficos del Morrazo has been one of the main reasons for the continuity of the Cangas team in Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL. From the corner, the Italian international has scored 125 goals (49 more than the previous season), the 12th best scoring figure of the ASOBAL season.
• Pablo Urdangarín (Fraikin BM. Granollers): the full Spanish international has had his best season under the spotlight of Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL. In his second season under Antonio Rama?s orders, alternating between back and wing positions, Urdangarín has achieved his scoring record with 118 goals, the second-best figure among Fraikin BM. Granollers specialists and the 16th best record in the overall ASOBAL ranking.

Popular voting of the candidacies

The ?ASOBAL Community? can participate from now on in the popular voting for these three All Star ASOBAL 25/26 candidacies. The rest of the awards and candidates will be published gradually, by phases and positions until June 24, during which the winners of each category will be progressively announced. The selection system reinforces the participatory and open nature of the All Star ASOBAL.

Fan votes will represent 40% of the final result and will be organized through the different exclusive polls enabled on the official ASOBAL WhatsApp channel (Access HERE), in line with the competition?s commitment to place the fan at the center of the experience and strengthen the direct connection with the professional handball community. This percentage will be added to the vote of ASOBAL clubs (40%), channeled through the 16 captains, coaches, and a representative of the management or board of each club, along with the criteria of specialized sports press (20%).

The candidates to be part of the ideal ASOBAL team have been selected based on a global evaluation of individual statistics from the current Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL, their presence in different sports recognition spaces (ideal 7, MVP of the matchday, nominations for MVP NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL), performance within the collective scope, and the ability to embody the values of sportsmanship, commitment, dedication, and respect that characterize our sport.

In the case of the breakthrough player and best coach categories, the impact on the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL 2025/26, sports growth compared to previous seasons, achievement of relevant milestones within the professional competition record, as well as their direct contribution to the results and sporting successes achieved by their teams are also evaluated.
