The social responsibility and commitment embraced by the ASOBAL Legacy League.

The celebration of World Water Day (Saturday, March 22), defined by the United Nations General Assembly in 1992, has been the latest commemoration that contextualizes and outlines the multiple facets of the ASOBAL Legacy League project. The professional competition laid the foundations of its sustainable aspect with its entry years ago into the United Nations Sports for Climate Action program, which defines 18 sustainable development goals.

Three of them have a direct relationship with World Water Day and the stance it champions: the sixth section on working to ensure clean water and sanitation, point 15 on sustainably managing forests, combating desertification, stopping and reversing land degradation, and halting biodiversity loss; and, finally, goal number 13 which is about taking urgent action to combat climate change and its effects.

ASOBAL works hand in hand with its clubs to define actions and strategic agreements that are part of the solution, with the intention of transferring its social momentum, with clubs, professionals and fans at the forefront, in a trickle of small achievements in the field of sustainability. The project was launched before the end of the first half of the Plenitude League and came into full effect with the return of the competition after the winter break. The ASOBAL clubs are currently immersed in a process of social growth to be the best ambassadors of the ASOBAL Legacy League and what it represents.
