The year 2025 has been an intense one for the NEXUS ENERGY ASOBAL League, marked by the commemoration and closing of its 40th anniversary, tributes to historical figures, sporting milestones and advances in sustainability and innovation. At the same time, the competition strengthened its bond with fans and partners through face-to-face and digital initiatives, establishing itself as a solid and growing project for the future.

The competition's anniversary concluded with the derby between ABANCA Ademar León and Recoletas Atlético Valladolid, an encounter that served as a stage to pay tribute to significant figures in the history of the professional league. Throughout the season, various initiatives were also launched to improve the face-to-face experience and to strengthen the relationship with commercial partners, such as the ‘Sponsor Day’, with the participation of Nexus Energy and Decathlon.

In this context, the recognitions to the ‘ASOBAL Godparents’ were also handed out, with Eugeni Serrano as the last honoree during the derby between Barça and Fraikin BM Granollers. Also, a new generation of legends was incorporated into the ‘Hall of Fame’ in the framework of the ASOBAL Gala, an annual event in which individual awards such as the MVP and the All Star were granted, consolidating itself as one of the main institutional acts of the competition.

In the sports field, the season left several significant milestones. The year 2025 was marked by the retirements of emblematic players such as Antonio García and the brothers Gedeón and Isaías Guardiola, recognized for their trajectory and impact on national handball during the ASOBAL Gala. On the courts, one of the most relevant results was the victory of Fraikin BM. Granollers at Palau Blaugrana (30-31), an unusual outcome that demonstrated the high degree of competitiveness of the league. Also noteworthy was the performance of Recoletas Atlético Valladolid as a local, with a streak of 16 months of invincibility in Huerta del Rey, a record that is now part of the club's history.

At the institutional level, the NEXUS ENERGY ASOBAL League expanded its network of strategic partners through agreements with brands such as Decathlon and Nexus Energy. Also, the first season of the ALL (ASOBAL Legacy League) was completed, a pioneering initiative from ASOBAL focused on the integration of sustainability criteria in professional handball. The project was recognized in October for its environmental commitment and included actions related to recycling and collaboration with Ecoembes, another partner of ASOBAL in this 2025.

The league's digital and audiovisual activity continued to evolve throughout the year, also enhancing its international projection thanks to the agreement with Fox Sports, which allowed to bring the excitement of the NEXUS ENERGY ASOBAL League to the Argentine market. This alliance represented a key step in the internationalization of the competition and in the dissemination of Spanish handball in Latin America. At the end of 2025, the competition not only shows positive figures in attendance and follow-up, but also consolidates as a solid project, with firm bases to face new sports, social and organizational challenges in the future.
