In the NEXUS ENERGY ASOBAL League we want to experience Christmas in a different way; commemorating the 15 kings who have passed match after match through the grand entrance, achieving one of the most important individual recognitions, being the MVP of each match. We are talking about 'The Kings of ASOBAL', those players who, after each match, have taken on the role of leaders to decide the fate of the two points. From the goal to the extremes, they are the protagonists who raise the level of the competition, giving us performances that border on perfection.
This season, the NEXUS ENERGY ASOBAL League has once again shown why it is one of the best handball leagues in the world, rewarding and recognizing its players where only the best achieve excellence. Being part of this league means belonging to one of the most prestigious and recognized competitions in the world. Here, the level of the players is not only measured in goals or stops, but in the ability to shine in a high-demand environment.
Marcos Fis was the first to open the season with a great match in which he scored 10 goals, placing him as the MVP of Matchday 1. The side was followed on Matchday 2 by the recognition of an impenetrable wall like Carlos Calle, mixing safety, reflexes and character in goal. The power of Mario Dorado, the resilience of Juan Bar and the forcefulness of Álvaro Martínez were key in the victories of their respective teams and managed to carve out a place in the recognition of the best of each matchday. The MVP of Matchday 6 traveled to Galician lands to highlight the work of Nicolò D'Antino, who signed an amazing 10/11 with a 91% effectiveness.
But if we talk about dominance, there are names that have refused to leave the throne. Frank Cordiés and Daniel Serrano were not content with one crown: both have repeated MVP as Kings of the matchday. The Cuban side of BADA Huesca lifted the award in two consecutive matchdays, showing that he is one of the most in-form scorers in the NEXUS ENERGY ASOBAL League. The young promise of CAJASOL Ángel Ximénez P. Genil, Daniel Serrano, lifted the MVP of Matchday 11 and Matchday 14 after a spectacular first round being the reference of the offensive attack of his team.
International talent has also claimed its place: the aforementioned Nicolò D'Antino and Frank Cordiés are joined by Jakub Prokop (J.9), Ahmed Elkhouga (J.12) and Viktor Hallgrimsson (J.13). And if we talk about numbers, what better than to close this parade of Kings with the talent of Dani Fernández (J.10) and Gonzalo Pérez (J.15), both young handball promises scored 14 and 10 goals in their respective matches.
The Excellence of the Nexus Energy MVP
The recognition to the Nexus Energy MVP rewards the constancy and leadership on the 40x20 throughout the month of the competition. From the beginning of the season, this award has highlighted the engine of our teams: starting in September with Joao Perbelini; the left back of REBI Handball Cuenca was chosen by the ASOBAL Community after a great start of the competition. The handball promise Marcos Fis followed in October; just as he did by lifting the MVP of Matchday 1, Marcos again demonstrated his talent and scored 24 goals with a 73% effectiveness. Daniel Serrano put his name back at the top after winning the Nexus Energy MVP for November in which he demonstrated his qualities at the head of his team; 26 goals and 14 assists. Finally, as the icing on a first round to frame, Isidoro Martínez closed the year in December as a true specialist in the vision of the game.
