ASOBAL held this Thursday the second workshop of the ASOBAL Legacy League (ALL), the project in terms of social, economic, and environmental sustainability of the elite of Spanish men's handball clubs. The professional competition and its president, Servando Revuelta, have reviewed the structure of the ALL, the strategic roadmap, and have defined a global picture to face the last months of the season, which will leave a classification based on the criteria that make up the ALL.

The configuration of its order, as in the case of the Plenitude League, is perfectly stipulated. There are 10 criteria that define the scoring system of the ASOBAL Legacy League, from governance and transparency to the aspect of social activities, through the field of recycling, mobility and accessibility, the link with new sponsors, activations with fans, the communicative stage, the strategy and monitoring of the project, cooperation with different entities and, at a second point, with partners.

All these strategic blocks, which allow focusing on different areas of sustainability in sport, are in turn made up of sub-criteria in the form of quick wins that clubs comply with to be positively evaluated. Different types of activities, different areas, and different scoring scales. The vast majority of clubs in the elite of Spanish men's handball have already executed and communicated their first actions within the umbrella of the ASOBAL Legacy League.

Personalized follow-up

ASOBAL, as the supervising body of the project, has implemented a monitoring and mentoring program since the beginning of the 2024-2025 season to accompany its clubs in the process of defining and executing the different initiatives. This Thursday's workshop is the second in the ALL. The first was last February 18, which kicked off the execution phase of the different initiatives that come from the clubs of the professional competition.

In addition, the ALL team complements group training with ad-hoc consulting sessions designed to support and provide resources and tools so that actions can finally be carried out. The objective is for them to have a real, positive, and tangible impact in terms of social, economic, and environmental responsibility. The agreement that ASOBAL signed weeks ago with Ecoembes reinforces this goal, generating a window of opportunity for clubs to carry out more sustainable initiatives.
