ASOBAL and Club Balonmano Villa de Aranda presented this Thursday at the Santiago Manguán the first Inclusive Handball Day Villa de Aranda-ASOBAL, which will take place on November 1st on the same court of the NEXUS ENERGY ASOBAL League and will count with the collaboration of the Aranda del Duero City Council, Nexus Energy and the Association for the assistance of people with intellectual or developmental disabilities (ASADEMA).
The initiative, pioneering in the promotion of inclusive handball in professional sport, will have an adapted format, with friendly and non-competitive matches from the inclusive teams Doncel ASADEMA La Caixa Villa de Aranda (host), BM Cuenca, BM Torrelavega and BM Guadalajara to promote a participatory and accessible environment for players with and without functional diversity, clubs, fans and entities.
“The inclusive day tangibly represents ASOBAL and ALL's vision: to consolidate a professional competition that not only generates sporting value, but also social impact. We are committed to a model of sport that builds legacy, promotes equality of opportunities and strengthens the bond with the community”, explained Servando Revuelta, president of ASOBAL, during the presentation event, which was also attended by Guillermo López Leal, deputy mayor of Aranda de Duero; Belén Esteban Sánchez, councilwoman for Sports of the Aranda City Council; Antonio Minguito, secretary of the Club de Balonmano Villa de Aranda and responsible for the project and Mirian Martínez and Rosa Figuero, from the Association for the assistance of people with intellectual or developmental disabilities (ASADEMA).
The event, free and open to all fans, is integrated into the competition's comprehensive sustainability project, the ASOBAL Legacy League (ALL), a framework that has promoted, among other initiatives, the social program ‘8 months 8 causes’ of Club Balonmano Aranda. The work of the ALL, which is facing its second season, was recognized this week with the Sustainability Action 2025 award for its vision, impact and commitment to social, environmental and economic-governance sustainability.
“For the Club Balonmano Villa de Aranda and its inclusive team it is a great satisfaction to be the hosts for the first edition of this ASOBAL tournament. We will try to live up to it and we are going to do it, showing the affection that people have for the players from Aranda, Cuenca, Torrelavega and Guadalajara. It's a day of coexistence, for the players to enjoy and for inclusive handball to take shape. May this be the first stone in building a great structure for this sport in Spain with the support of ASOBAL”, commented Antonio Minguito, secretary of the Club de Balonmano Villa de Aranda and responsible for the project.

This is the commitment of the city of Aranda to handball, not only with the first team, but with everything related to our club, and especially in this social and inclusive aspect. We hope it will be a great day of handball and many people will come to see our fantastic inclusive athletes”, pointed out Belén Esteban Sánchez, councilwoman for Sports of the Aranda City Council.
The day will be broadcasted via streaming and will have extensive coverage on social networks and media, reinforcing the reach of the project and the firm commitment of ASOBAL and its clubs, with the support of collaborating institutions, to be vehicles of social transformation, following the strategic foundations of the ALL, transcending the sporting sphere.
