Suso Soliño is much more than one of the most emblematic players in the history of ASOBAL. He represents romantic loyalty to a color, the appreciation for the bond with a pavilion and the passion for the profession, savoring the mystique of handball, specifically Galician. ASOBAL speaks with the forward hours before paying tribute to him during the match between Frigoríficos del Morrazo and Fraikin BM. Granollers with the distinction of 'ASOBAL Godfather', within the framework of the 40th anniversary of the elite of Spanish male handball clubs.

Soliño briefly reviews his career as a 'One Club Man' from Cangas, dressed in historical records. The mythical dorsal 8 from O Gatañal accumulated a total of 1,548 goals, being the 12th top scorer in the history of ASOBAL, throughout 19 seasons, also displaying the condition of being the 14th in more matches played in the now professional competition. "I was able to enjoy the ASOBAL League for many years, especially at home, where people have a lot of affection for you and support you. I enjoyed it to the fullest until my body told me to stop because you can't take it anymore," explains Soliño, in statements to ASOBAL.

"I had offers, and good offers to leave, but I was so comfortable here, playing and enjoying, that I decided to stay and continue helping the club here. It's my family. I started very small in this club, I grew up and until about 44 years old I was playing. For me all the atmosphere that is lived here is my family. You have to come to the pavilion and see the atmosphere that there is. It's hard to explain. This is a passion," adds the former Galician player, in an excerpt from the interview.
