In this highly demanding scenario, without experience in the category, the Alicante team has managed to refine its most competitive version until establishing itself as one of the most solid and balanced squads. The victory in round 28 against ABANCA Ademar León (35-32) secured the ticket for ASOBAL handball 26/27, to the ovation of the Pitiu Rochel, celebrating the satisfaction of the work done and the commitment of the entire squad with two matches remaining - against Viveros Herol BM. Nava and Bada Huesca.

A success forged from the club's structure and the players, led by Roi Sánchez, one of its main protagonists. The arrival of the Galician coach in October 2025 bolstered and strengthened the sporting project, ninth in the overall standings, until achieving the great end-of-season objective. The coach reactivated the team from his first match on the Alicante bench with a resounding 34-24 victory over Frigoríficos del Morrazo, defending his style of play, shaping it and successfully giving it continuity.

A group led by several key figures who have contributed personality and their best performance in the ASOBAL brand. Ander Torrico, first among them, who has become one of the great specialists in the professional competition, ranking as the eighth top scorer overall with 122 goals (the same as Joao Bandeira, seventh, and two goals behind Javier Muñoz, sixth). It is his second-best offensive record since his debut in the category, surpassing his personal record wearing the Anaitasuna jersey (100), and just 7 goals short of his personal record from the 2018-2019 season (129).

James Lewis Parker has been the second sword, showing his extraordinary ability to break the balance and see the goal from the outside shot (115 goals and 43 assists in 27 matches), while Iván Montoya has scored 103 goals, consolidating himself as one of the most outstanding pivots of the season, delivering a huge second half of the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL.

Special mention to Javier Borragán, MVP Nexus Energía for March, demonstrating judgment and offensive efficiency, being the standout player at times, balancing the collective game with a constant shooting threat from the right wing. The goalkeeping has been at the same level. Roberto Domenech has also played a fundamental role, surpassing 200 saves and remaining among the most decisive goalkeepers of the season, being a fixture in the Alicante schemes, as is the case with the talented David Faílde, 19 years old, who has added a total of 23 saves in the last two rounds.
