The elite of Spanish handball, the Plenitude League, can boast of having six Olympic medalists in its ranks at the start of the 2024/2025 season. The Blaugranas Gonzalo Pérez de Vargas, Aleix Gómez and Javier Rodríguez, in addition to Petar Cikusa and Bidasoa Irun's physical trainer, Nacho Torrescusa, have won the bronze medal in Paris 2024 after beating Slovenia (23-22) and the Barça's goalkeeper, Emil Nielsen, has won the Gold in a final clearly dominated by Denmark over Germany (26-39).
