Six debutants, double recognition for Marcos Fis and five clubs represented in the 'All Star ASOBAL' of the NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL League 25/26

The award for Marcos Fis as 'Breakthrough Player' of the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL 2025/2026 has this Monday closed the 'All Star ASOBAL' team of this season, made up of the Fraikin BM. Granollers player (best right back and breakthrough player), Xoan Ledo (best goalkeeper, Dicorpebal Logroño La Rioja), Ludovic Fàbregas (best defender, Barça), Jakub Prokop (best left back, Bathco BM. Torrelavega), Álvaro Preciado (best center back, Dicorpebal Logroño La Rioja), Dani Fernández (best left wing, Barça), Gonzalo Pérez Arce (best right wing, ABANCA Ademar León), Álvaro Martínez (best pivot, Dicorpebal Logroño La Rioja) and Miguel Ángel Velasco (best coach, Dicorpebal Logroño La Rioja).

The ideal team of the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL 25/26 is an accurate snapshot of the equality and collective talent that defines the spectacle of the professional competition. The end-of-season excellence awards of the ASOBAL brand feature a total of 9 winners, from five different teams (Barça, Dicorpebal Logroño La Rioja, Fraikin BM. Granollers, IRUDEK Bidasoa Irun and Bathco BM. Torrelavega), major protagonists in the contest and equality matchday after matchday of the ASOBAL brand. 

Winners of 10 categories in a voting system divided between the popular phase (40%), the decision of the leaders, coaches and captains of the professional competition teams (40%) and the specialized press (20%), to guarantee a plural, balanced and representative vision of professional handball as a whole. The constant growth and expansion of the ASOBAL brand is an accurate reflection of the good moment of the professional competition and its professionalization process at all levels, with its clubs as the cornerstone of the collective project.

The candidates to be part of the ideal ASOBAL team - five per position - have been selected, in turn, based on a global evaluation of the individual statistics of the current Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL, their presence in the different sports recognition spaces (7 ideal, MVP of the Matchday, nominations for the MVP NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL), their performance within the collective sphere and their ability to embody the values of sportsmanship, commitment, dedication and respect that characterize our sport.

New candidates and winners making their debut to continue feeding the plurality of talent in the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL. A total of 6 members of the ‘All Star ASOBAL’ had never before been part of the professional handball recognition project (Xoan Ledo, Álvaro Preciado, Álvaro Martínez, Miguel Ángel Velasco, Marcos Fis, Jakub Prokop), 4 of its members did not play in the previous edition of the ASOBAL competition (Ludovic Fàbregas, Dani Fernández, Marcos Fis, Gonzalo Pérez Arce) and 4 more winners wear the colors of Dicorpebal Logroño La Rioja (Xoan Ledo, Álvaro Preciado, Álvaro Martínez, Miguel Ángel Velasco), who won the runner-up this year. 

The choice of the Nexus Energía MVP of the season

The award for Marcos Fis closes the 'All Star ASOBAL' 2025/2026 team and opens the process of choosing the Nexus Energía MVP of the season, which will designate the best player of the last 10 months of ASOBAL handball. The winner will be chosen once again by the members of the ideal seven of the professional competition's sports excellence project (best left wing, best left back, best center back, best right back, best right wing, best pivot and best goalkeeper), through a vote that will include the choice of coaches, captains and top leaders of the clubs that make up the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL. The winner will be announced this coming Wednesday, July 8, and will thus close a spectacular edition of the 'All Star ASOBAL' 25/26.
