The 2024 Paris Olympics enter their decisive stage once the group stage has been overcome and Barça, current champion of the Plenitude League and the EHF Champions League, is one of the clubs with the greatest representation in the competition with a total of 9 players.

Three 'Blaugranas' have achieved their qualification for the Quarterfinals with the Spanish team led by Jordi Ribera: Gonzalo Pérez de Vargas, Aleix Gómez, and Javi Rodríguez, in addition to Petar Cikusa who is on the reserve list. In the last match of the group stage, the Hispanos overcame Croatia (32-31) with a last-second goal by Aleix Gómez to conquer the third place in Group A, avoid Denmark, and cross paths with Egypt of Juan Carlos Pastor, next Wednesday at 9:30 am. The 'Blaugrana' goalkeeper, Gonzalo Pérez de Vargas, played a key role in the Hispanos' victory with 14 interventions and a 32% success rate, while pivot Javi Rodríguez also had a great performance with 6 goals and an 86% effectiveness.

From Group A, Slovenia with Blaz Janc and Sweden with Jonathan Carlsbogård and Hampus Wanne also advance to the Quarterfinals. The Balkans will face Norway in the last quarter (9:30 pm) while the Scandinavians will face, at 5:30 pm, Denmark with Emil Nielsen, leader of Group B with a full victory (5/5) and points (10/10). The current Olympic and European Champion, France, managed to seal their ticket to the Quarterfinals with great doses of suffering and a last victory over Hungary (20-24) that brings the 'Blaugranas' Dika Mem and Melvyn Richardson closer to the fight for the medals. The hosts will face the leading team of Group A, Germany, at 1:30 pm.
