NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL League Guide 26/27: REBI Balonmano Cuenca

REBI Balonmano Cuenca is preparing a Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL 2026/2027 season to regain the impregnable character of El Sargal and showcase handball that will take them back to fighting at the top of the standings. The goalkeeper from Bada Huesca arrives initially with a contract until the start of the second half of the professional competition to cover for the absence of the Portuguese international Pedro Tonicher.

Player to Watch: Fede Pizarro

The Argentine senior international remains the differentiating element of this REBI Balonmano Cuenca. He has managed to define a great combination of outside threat, one of the most unbalancing one-on-ones in continental handball, and the experience necessary to make good decisions. At 39 years old, last season he was key in the most important moments of the Cuenca campaign. He scored 107 goals and recorded 42 assists. His top scoring performance of the season was in matchday 2 against BM. Caserío Ciudad Real (10 goals).

ASOBAL Pearl: Jan Blas

The 19-year-old right wing arrives at REBI Balonmano Cuenca as one of the great promises of Spanish handball. He comes from Barça’s reserve team and with the experience of having played 10 matches (scoring 12 goals) in Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL in the 2024/2025 season. Last season he scored 69 goals in 29 matches in División de Honor B. He stands out as a physically powerful player, capable of leading the team’s first offensive transition and with resources in front of goal in positional attack situations. Another young pearl arriving to grow and shine in the professional competition.
