Marcos Fis wins his second 'All Star ASOBAL' award after being named the breakthrough player of the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL 25/26

Marcos Fis has won the 'Breakthrough Player' award of the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL 2025/2026 to complete this season's 'All Star ASOBAL' team, made up of the Fraikin BM. Granollers player (best right back and breakthrough player), Xoan Ledo (best goalkeeper, Dicorpebal Logroño La Rioja), Ludovic Fàbregas (best defender, Barça), Jakub Prokop (best left back, Bathco BM. Torrelavega), Álvaro Preciado (best center back, Dicorpebal Logroño La Rioja), Dani Fernández (best left wing, Barça), Gonzalo Pérez Arce (best right wing, ABANCA Ademar León), Álvaro Martínez (best pivot, Dicorpebal Logroño La Rioja) and Miguel Ángel Velasco (best coach, Dicorpebal Logroño La Rioja).

This is, therefore, the second 'All Star ASOBAL' recognition for Marcos Fis, crowning his historic debut season in the elite of Spanish men's club handball. The Fraikin BM. Granollers player prevailed in the tenth and final nomination of the ideal team of the season with 57.83% of the votes – divided between the popular phase (40%), the decision of the managers, coaches and captains of the professional competition teams (40%) and the specialized press (20%) – ahead of Adrián Sola (Barça, 14.81%), second, and David López (Tubos Aranda Villa de Aranda, 13.07%), third.

Fis has been a member of the 'ideal 7 of the round', 'MVP of the round' and the first player in the history of the professional competition to win two Nexus Energía MVPs in the same season. His dual status as 'All Star', a figure on par with the best in history, crowns an unprecedented debut under the spotlight of Spanish professional handball, adapting to the demands of the ASOBAL brand from the first official match of the calendar, which ended with 10 goals from the Granollers scorer against Cajasol Ángel Ximénez Puente Genil.

The club ecosystem and the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL, marked by equality and maximum competitiveness week after week, have managed to boost the emergence of a generational talent, consolidating him as one of the young players with the greatest impact in international handball. Fis, 19 years old, has maintained a very high performance throughout the season, adding records and leadership capacity on the court, finishing third in the ranking of top scorers of the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL with 164 goals and an average of almost 6 per game, without missing a single call-up from Antonio Rama and Antonio García.

The double 'All Star ASOBAL' award also recognized his great end to the season, under the crown of Nexus Energía MVP for the month of May, being the player who scored the most goals during the last four matches, with a total of 28 goals excluding seven-meter throws and a 78% effectiveness rate, as well as distributing 9 assists. His figures translated directly to the collective level, being key in securing third place for Fraikin BM. Granollers, which completed the podium of the best teams of the season and secured qualification for the next European campaign.

A top-level finale to close his first season in ASOBAL handball, which in October featured his first Nexus Energía MVP. The blanc-i-blau player then won the vote after becoming one of the standout names in the initial stretch of the professional competition, being then his team's second top scorer with 44 goals and an average of 6.29 per game, key to keeping his team co-leader with the same points record as Barça. Marcos Fis, thus, continues breaking records from the competitive rhythm and equality of the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL, which has enhanced his set of qualities and elevated him to the status of a new idol of the ASOBAL brand.
