Ludovic Fàbregas returns to the All Star ASOBAL as the best defender of the NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL League

Ludovic Fabregas has received the award for best defender of the ‘All Star ASOBAL’ of the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL 2025/2026 after the final vote count, which includes the popular phase (40%), the decision of the leaders, coaches, and captains of the professional competition teams (40%), and the specialized press (20%). It is the sixth appearance of the French international pivot from Barça in the professional competition's sports excellence space, the first in the candidacy that highlights and rewards defensive work within the court spectacle - he was best pivot in the 2022/23, 2021/22, 2020/21, 2019/20, and 2018/19 seasons -.

The Barça pivot, who outperformed Marcio Silva from Bathco BM. Torrelavega (second, with 24.73%) and Ivan Popovic (third, with 20.02%) on the final podium, has been the defensive leader of the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL champion. He has shown his strongest version on his own court as a defensive third, also being key in initiating the offensive actions of Carlos Ortega’s team.

Fàbregas, who has returned this season to ASOBAL handball, continues to prove that he is one of the great players on the international scene and one of the great emblems of the elite of Spanish men’s club handball. In addition to his ability to organize and set the pace of the game from defense, directly contributing to Barça being the least scored team in the professional competition (record of 799 goals conceded, an average of 26.6 per game), the pivot has also contributed 71 goals in attack.

Through these awards, the Professional League recognizes the players and coaches who have marked the development of the championship, while also valuing the work of the clubs and the level of a competition consolidating itself as the main showcase of Spanish professional men’s handball.
