La Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL records its best television start in the last decade on Teledeporte

The Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL has started its 37th edition by signing its best television launch of the last decade on Teledeporte. The opening match of the professional competition, played last Friday at 7:00 p.m. at the Palacio de los Deportes de La Rioja between Dicorpebal La Rioja and Barça, reached an average audience of 80,000 viewers and a 1.2% share. Additionally, 248,000 people tuned in at some point to watch the Catalan team's first victory in the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL 2026/27.

This figure positions this match as the best television launch of the competition on Teledeporte in the last decade and represents support for ASOBAL's new audiovisual strategy, which this season features a fixed slot on Friday afternoons on RTVE's thematic channel for the weekly broadcast of the highest category of Spanish professional handball.

This result is also framed within the extensive audiovisual coverage of the match, part of the new model promoted by ASOBAL. The game was also simulcast on Eurosport 2, as a result of the agreement to broadcast two weekly matches; on the regional channel TV3; and through ASOBAL TV, ASOBAL's new audiovisual platform that offers all Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL matches in full.
