The ASOBAL handball has built over its almost 42 years of history a legacy that has made tangible the passion, talent and sense of belonging that champions Spanish professional handball. It is the result of a collection of moments, photographs and illustrious surnames, in plural, showing an extraordinary social fabric of family sagas, a phenomenon that shapes the heart of the ASOBAL brand identity, with strong roots in its territory.

The excitement of experiencing the spectacle of the current NEXUS ENERGY ASOBAL League has passed from parents to children in a natural exercise, linked from its first stone to colors and shields, inside and outside the court. In the ASOBAL Hall of Fame, the jerseys of Talant Dujshebaev, Alberto Entrerríos or David Barrufet shine, living legends of the elite of Spanish men's club handball, great exponents of this very unique sport-personal case.

The coach and former center of Teka Cantabria and BM. Ciudad Real transferred his talent and knowledge to the next generation, his sons Alex and Dani, international references, born competitively from the competitiveness of professional competition. Exceptional connection between past, present and future of ASOBAL, as in the case of the Entrerrios brothers, Alberto and Raúl, two of the best first lines in ASOBAL history, exponents of BM. Ciudad Real and one of the best Barça of all time; or David and Ian Barrufet, on a blaugrana canvas, insignia of the 'Dream Team' and new pillar of the project led by Carlos Ortega, also sharing group dynamics with his son Manuel.

An intergenerational bridge that defines the essence of the celebration this Friday of the 'Family Day' and that occurs in so many other successful cases, such as in the surname Fis, with Marcos, Nexus Energy MVP of the month of October after debuting weeks ago in the category with Fraikin BM. Granollers, drinking from the experience of his father, Julio, also a coach, one of the great cannons of continental handball. David and Alejandro Pisonero show that the staff-player connection also works within the family environment. Coach and center work in unison, being two of the visible faces of the Recoletas At. Valladolid project, consolidated in the elite, reaping victories and anniversaries.

An intergenerational bridge that defines the ASOBAL legacy

The current NEXUS ENERGY ASOBAL League draws from its roots throughout the ASOBAL Community territory, with new sagas that sign the most spectacular actions week by week. Álvaro Martínez has lifted the last MVP of the Day after a great performance, receiving filtered passes on the six-meter line from his brother Miguel, among others, raising the level of Dicorpebal Logroño La Rioja in its fight for the runner-up.

Same prominence for the brothers Fede and Nacho Pizarro, emblems of REBI Balonmano Cuenca de Lidio Jiménez, making a place among the great names of the Conquense imaginary; of Esteban and Rodrigo Salinas in IRUDEK Bidasoa Irun, two of the best South American players in the history of the competition or Gonzalo and Rodrigo Pérez Arce, two of the most talented players to come out of the ABANCA Ademar León quarry in the last decade.

They are pairs of brothers who champion projects, who make the mystique of sharing the intimacy of the dressing room, experiences and emotions an ecosystem that contributes to the sense of belonging of an entire competition. Petar and Djordje Cikusa or Samuel and Frank Cordiés replicate the mold, naturally assuming leadership, this season in the fight for the title or permanence, respectively.

As the Camino brothers had previously done in Recoletas At. Valladolid, Diego and Miguel, or the Guardiolas, Isaías and Gedeón, in San Antonio or recently in Viveros Herol BM. Nava, among so many cases. It is a unique way in professional sport to understand family and sport. A dynasty format nurtured by ASOBAL and its clubs with strategic projects, on the one hand, and a task of preserving a way of feeling and understanding the passion for the ASOBAL spectacle so special. A moving legacy that started more than 40 years ago and that continues - and will continue - to make the NEXUS ENERGY ASOBAL League shine.
