Decathlon and ASOBAL united in support of handball.

ASOBAL has signed a collaboration agreement with Decathlon to become the main sports partner and the provider of the new official ball of the ASOBAL League. The Kipsta HB900 will be the new star of the professional competition and the cornerstone of its collaboration with the multi-specialist sports brand, which will extend until 2029. The arrival of Decathlon at the elite level of Spanish men's handball strengthens, in this way and from this upcoming season, its promise to meet the highest performance standards.

ASOBAL has contributed to defining the ideal environment for Decathlon's landing, generating an opportunity to highlight the technicality and innovation of the new competition ball, developed by Kipsta, the company's technical brand for team sports. “For Decathlon this agreement goes beyond accompanying professional handball, but it allows us to bring it closer to society as well. Doing it hand in hand with a first level league, like ASOBAL, allows us to help more people discover this sport, make it accessible to them and live it with passion", has pointed out Borja Sánchez, CEO of Decathlon Spain.

A high-performance ball in ASOBAL

The Kipsta HB900 has been designed to meet the demands of the professional sports elite and the most experienced players. The ball has the approval of the International Federation (IHF), which guarantees that it meets international standards of quality and performance, offering an optimal playing experience. “It is a ball of the highest sports elite that fits the style of play of the clubs and players of the ASOBAL League. The Kipsta HB900 will be a key element in the 240 matches of the season", points out Servando Revuelta, ASOBAL's president.

Thanks to its polyurethane outer coating and an integrated foam layer, the ball provides exceptional grip and great comfort in handling. This grip is enhanced and improved even more with the use of resin, ensuring a structure and a softer touch. In addition, the Kipsta HB900 stands out for its resistance, and has been tested in real playing conditions and subjected in the laboratory to 1,500 shots against a steel plate before showing the first signs of wear.
