BM. Caserío Ciudad has laid the foundation this week for its second season in Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL. The team led by Santi Urdiales, which finished eighth in the overall standings in its debut season in the professional competition, has begun its preseason work, with the clear objective of continuing to expand its history in the elite of Spanish men's club handball, driven by its native competitiveness and the heart of the Quijote Arena.

The Manchegan team first underwent the usual medical examinations before playing its first on-court session this Tuesday at the Polideportivo Puerta de Santa María, with the presence of the new faces of the sports project, strengthened by: Juan Bar, Aitor Albizu (now fully signed), Adi Omeracic, Omar Salem, Jorge Maqueda, David Cadarso, and Nacho Plaza, reinforcing an increasingly complete and deep squad.

The group has six weeks to regain its best form and face the debut in Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL 2026/2027 at the Tubos Aranda Villa de Aranda court (September 12/13). Specific training, physical load, and a plan of six friendly matches starting on August 14 with the Feria Trophy against Viveros Herol BM. Nava and Cajasol Ángel Ximénez Puente Genil, two rivals within the ASOBAL ecosystem.

The next preseason appointment will be the Junta de Castilla-La Mancha Trophy against REBI Balonmano Cuenca and SANICENTRO BM. Guadalajara, which this season will compete in the División de Honor Plata. BM. Caserío Ciudad Real will close the summer test series against Fertiberia Puerto Sagunto on August 29 and Recoletas Salud At.
