Barça lifts the 36th NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL League title at the Palau Blaugrana

Barça received this Friday, May 22, the trophy that accredits them as champions of the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL 2025/26, within the framework of the blue and claret team's last home league match of the season. The official award ceremony took place at the Palau Blaugrana following the victory in the penultimate round of the championship against Bathco BM Torrelavega (36-24).

The event brought together on the court of the Palau Blaugrana Servando Revuelta, president of the Spanish Professional Handball Clubs League – ASOBAL; Francisco Blázquez, president of the Royal Spanish Handball Federation; Joan Solé, FC Barcelona executive; and Miguel Fandiño, general manager of Nexus Energía, title sponsor of the competition. The institutional representatives previously attended the match from the presidential box before participating in the official trophy presentation to the team led by Carlos Ortega.

“The trophy presentation crowns Barça’s season in the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL, a competition in which they have demonstrated throughout the course an extraordinary competitive level and consistency to be crowned champions,” highlighted Servando Revuelta, president of ASOBAL. “Their performance at the highest level both in Spain and in Europe confirms the team’s solidity and its status as a benchmark in continental handball.”

The Barça mathematically secured the title in the final stretch of the championship, thus adding the 33rd League in the history of the section and the 25th since the start of the ASOBAL era. Furthermore, the blue and claret team extends to 16 consecutive seasons their status as champions of the highest category of professional Spanish handball.

The trophy presentation crowned Barça’s last league match of the season at the Palau Blaugrana, in a day of celebration shared between the team and fans after winning a new Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL title.
