Barça and Fraikin BM. Granollers open the NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL 26/27 season with a win

Barça and Fraikin BM. Granollers debuted this afternoon with a victory in the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL, which has officially opened its doors and kicks off months of spectacle, maximum equality, and historic photos for professional Spanish handball. The reigning champion took their duel against Dicorpebal Logroño La Rioja (32-48), which began after the presentation of the awards from the last edition of the 'All Star ASOBAL' to Miguel Ángel Velasco (best coach), Xoan Ledo (best goalkeeper), Álvaro Martínez (best pivot), Álvaro Preciado (best center), Dani Fernández (best left wing) and Ludovic Fàbregas (best pivot), with the presence on the court of the ASOBAL president, Servando Revuelta.

With the Kipsta HB900 ball from Decathlon already in motion, Carlos Ortega's team took the lead and was able to lead on the scoreboard from the start, controlling the game, becoming strong from the goalkeeper-defense duo, and showing their characteristic efficiency. The blaugrana firepower bore the mark of Ludovic Fàbregas (8 goals from 8 shots), Dika Mem (6/7), and the left wing duo Dani Fernández-Ian Tarrafeta (5 goals each), ASOBAL talent. The blaugrana exhibition did not overshadow the outstanding performance of Miguel (8 goals) and Álvaro Martínez (7 goals), once again an essential part of the performance of Miguel Ángel Velasco's team.

Frakin BM. Granollers takes the two points

Marcos Fis’s Fraikin BM. Granollers also took the two points in the first round of the domestic calendar. Cangas, for its part, managed to keep its approach intact as the minutes passed, always in game rhythm, with Ivan Panjan as an anchor (16 saves). 

The performance of the goalkeeper with the most saves in the last edition of the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL was added to the inspiration of a huge Arnau Fernández (9 goals), the left hand of Martín Gayo (3 goals and 4 assists), and Manuel Pérez (6 goals), called to be definitively the face of the present and future of Quique Domínguez’s block. Thus, amid alternatives and collective talent, the Palau players knew how to be more effective with the ball in their hands and gradually extended their goal lead to draw a controlled finish to secure the two points and debut with a victory in the professional competition.
