ASOBAL held this morning at the Pons Foundation the 'Sponsor Day 2025/2026', a key event to strengthen the ecosystem of the elite of Spanish men's handball clubs and officially present the NEXUS ENERGY ASOBAL League 25/26. Sponsors, institutions, media and clubs, led by Servando Revuelta and Fernando Corral, president and general director of the professional competition respectively, have taken part in the event, which has featured the participation of Nexus Energy and Decathlon, new ASOBAL partners.

On the one hand, the president of ASOBAL, Servando Revuelta, explained how "the work being done by the clubs serves to improve competitiveness and promote the sports product", in addition to focusing on the work that ASOBAL will carry out. The Sponsor Day has marked the starting signal to the annual strategic program, seeking to maintain the upward trend of the project, definition of brand values, notoriety and ability to expand the margins of the sports product. Precisely, one of the edges to enhance the audiovisual product will come from LALIGA and LALIGA+, which will broadcast one more year the 240 matches of the NEXUS ENERGY ASOBAL League.

The competition will also premiere a fixed slot in the conventional television schedule through Teledeporte, focused on the broadcast of the 'Matches of the Day'. This initiative will give value to the ASOBAL experience, inside and outside the pavilion, highlighting every detail of the 16 tracks of the circuit, which recovers the 'Quijote Arena' of BM. Caserío Ciudad Real and the 'Pitiu Rochel', headquarters of Horneo EON Alicante. The competition will continue to strengthen the bond with its fans through the 'ASOBAL Community' project, the definition of events such as the ASOBAL Gala, a wide range of 'sportainment' content online and offline and initiatives linked to Nexus Energy and Decathlon.

A sustainable league

Jesús Martín, director of the commercial area of Nexus Energy, explained the responsibility of being part of the ASOBAL project. Martín highlighted the moment of the competition and the dimension of the ASOBAL Legacy League (ALL), which faces its second season with the participation of all ASOBAL clubs. "The level of commitment to the sustainability of the league and clubs is certainly a differential value."

The implementation of the project in terms of social, economic and environmental sustainability, a pioneer in Spain, which officially started before the start of the second half of the 2024/2025 season, has allowed the 16 clubs of the elite of Spanish men's handball to launch different measurable and evaluable initiatives, providing them with tools to grow vertically and transversally.

A new ball, the KIPSTA HB 900

On the court, the premiere of the Kipsta HB900 as the new official ball of the NEXUS ENERGY ASOBAL League stands as another of the great attractions of the season. Decathlon's firm commitment to ASOBAL generates new strategic synergies to improve the staging and visibility of the professional competition spectacle. Eduardo Malo, commercial director of Decathlon Spain, highlighted the "exciting moment in which we find ourselves immersed and in which we want to go hand in hand with the clubs". The celebration of Sponsor Day is a further example of this process of professionalization and community generation among the different actors that make up the ASOBAL universe.

The event has defined a space for dialogue and exchange of ideas between brands, with different exhibitions, institutions, media and professionals of the sector -such as the prestigious SPSG Consulting-, to continue promoting actions that strengthen the projection of Spanish handball both nationally and internationally, placing its clubs at the epicenter of the project. In this line, ASOBAL launches this course the ASOBAL Hub, a project that will support and provide tools to the clubs so they can grow and develop in the different areas that intervene in sports business. Through a program of workshop sessions and thematic seminars, the entity seeks to support and enhance its professionalization.

In addition, the ASOBAL Sponsor Day featured the presence of Antonio García, a legend of national and international handball, who now combines his responsibilities as assistant coach at Fraikin BM. Granollers and as ambassador of ASOBAL: "Now I live handball in a different way and I see it from another side, but I still enjoy it as always".
