ASOBAL participates in Sports Summit Madrid 2026 in a panel gathering the main European handball leagues

The Spanish Professional Handball Clubs League – ASOBAL has been present for the second consecutive year at the Sport Summit Madrid, one of the main international meetings of the sports industry, through its president, Servando Revuelta, and its general director, Fernando Corral. Held on June 17 and 18 at IFEMA Madrid, the second edition of the event brings together the main players of the global sports ecosystem to analyze the trends, challenges, and opportunities that are defining the future of the sport business.

As part of the opening day, ASOBAL's general director, Fernando Corral, participated in the roundtable “Handball Today: A Sport on the Rise with New Opportunities,” included in the official congress agenda and focused on the evolution of professional handball and its growth potential in an increasingly competitive and globalized environment.

The general director of the professional competition shared the stage with Frank Bohmann, Managing Director of the Handball Bundesliga, and Etienne Capon, General Director of the Ligue Nationale de Handball (LNH) of France, in a session moderated by Nacho Plans, consultant at SPSG Consulting. The panel brought together the general directors of the three major European professional leagues to exchange views on the trends driving the development of handball, from the transformation of business models and the evolution of content consumption to internationalization processes and the generation of new opportunities for the entire industry.

ASOBAL’s participation in the Sport Summit Madrid 2026 allows projecting the transformation process that the competition has been driving in recent years, through a roadmap aimed at strengthening the value of the Professional League, enhancing its value proposition for clubs, brands, and fans, and promoting the growth of the professional handball product as a sports and entertainment asset.
