ASOBAL will collaborate once again with the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) in the 'Bracelets of Hope' campaign, within the framework of World Cancer Day, which is celebrated every February 4th. The clubs that make up the NEXUS ENERGY ASOBAL League join together with other professional competitions in Spanish sport to give visibility to people with cancer, their families, and the need for more humane and comprehensive oncological care.
This year, the initiative celebrates its third anniversary under the slogan "The symbol that unites us" and will take place during round 16, on the 7th, 8th, 10th, and 11th of February, coinciding with the start of the second half of the season. In all the matches, players and coaching staff of the NEXUS ENERGY ASOBAL League teams will wear a green bracelet, the color of the AECC and a symbol of hope, with the aim of making this gesture visible and consolidating it as a universal symbol against cancer that accompanies, supports, and humanizes the disease.
In addition, ASOBAL will take the message of 'Bracelets of Hope' beyond the court with a digital campaign that will disseminate awareness-raising content, connecting players, fans, and the entire community of professional handball in Spain. An action that reinforces the message that cancer is present in all areas of society and that its approach requires collective commitment.
The participation of ASOBAL and its clubs in initiatives like the 'Bracelets of Hope' since its first edition reflects the identity of the professional league, committed to society and its fans. This commitment translates into concrete actions, such as collaboration with the Spanish Association Against Cancer or participation in the Day Against Gender Violence, and is maintained consistently through the ASOBAL Legacy League (ALL), which guides the competition and its clubs in their way of generating positive impact from social, economic, and governance and environmental sustainability, on and off the court.
