ASOBAL joins the campaign launched by LALIGA and the Red Cross to involve their clubs, professionals and fans in fundraising to assist and mitigate the consequences of DANA in Spanish territory, with special attention to the damage suffered by the Valencian Community. The professional Spanish handball competition, aware of the dimension of the situation and the demand for help, will bring -among other measures- its fans the official channels to collaborate with the Red Cross during the dispute of the next rounds of the Plenitude League.

Anyone can contribute their grain of sand by sending a BIZUM to 02910 or entering the official Red Cross page (www.cruzroja.es/colabora). ASOBAL will project this data during the next rounds through the LEDS system of sports venues, sports broadcasts on the LALIGA+ platform and its different communication channels. ASOBAL, likewise, continues to work on a solidarity action to add resources to the cause.

The performance of the Red Cross

To date, and in this first phase of immediate response, the Red Cross has offered more than 216,000 assistances, housing about 4,000 people in the different shelters enabled in the affected areas of València. In addition, it has 28 distribution and delivery points from which it has provided almost 33,000 hygiene kits and delivered more than 3,200 blankets. All this work has been possible thanks to the involvement of more than 4,800 mobilized people, which is an average of 800 daily volunteers.

The Spanish Red Cross has launched a Response Plan for recovery from the effects of DANA, to respond to the needs of the affected population, which is being developed and which will be executed in three phases: immediate response, recovery and strengthening and resilience. In the early stages, it will meet the needs of more than 60,000 people with an initial budget of 20 million euros.
