ASOBAL closed the first half of the NEXUS ENERGY League 2025/26 with an event designed to reinforce its connection with the Spanish handball community. This Saturday, December 20, the Sports Palace of León experienced a festive day that went far beyond the sports field, with a series of activations carried out before, during and after the match, offering a unique experience to the public. All this in the framework of the 'Match of Round 15', which faced ABANCA Ademar León and Tubes Aranda Villa de Aranda and resulted in a victory for the team from León by 37-32.

The day, organized in collaboration with the local club, was not only a celebration of handball, but also an opportunity for ASOBAL to reaffirm its commitment to society. In one of the most highlighted moments, tribute was paid to the Emergency Military Unit (UME) for its work in recent emergency situations, such as the DANA in Valencia or the fires that occurred this summer. The act, attended by the players of both teams, highlighted how handball can contribute beyond the court and give visibility and institutional recognition to entities that perform an essential service to society.

The vice president of ASOBAL for Institutional Relations and president of the local club, Cayetano Franco Juan, gave a gift to the Fifth Battalion of Emergency Intervention in León, led by Lieutenant Colonel Pablo Samaniego Pérez, as a token of appreciation for the work carried out by the UME.

In addition, the live broadcast of the match through Teledeporte allowed to bring the festive day and the tribute to the screens, reaffirming that ASOBAL, beyond the competition, continues working to strengthen its bond with the fans and contribute positively to society, as reflected by initiatives and those of its clubs articulated through the ASOBAL Legacy League (ALL).
