ASOBAL renews its firm commitment this season to the Spanish Commission for Anti-Doping in Sport (CELAD) and continues to work together to reinforce the culture of fair play in Spanish handball. As part of this collaboration initiated in 2024, ASOBAL, its clubs and players participated last November 6 in a Training Day in Doping Prevention, which served as a starting point for the actions planned for the 2025/26 season.

This new training focused on the general aspects of doping prevention, in accordance with the Education Standard of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), addressing the essential content that athletes and support personnel must know to ensure safe and integral sports practice.

In line with this educational work and with the aim of continuing to reinforce the culture of fair play, ASOBAL develops in an ongoing and joint manner with CELAD different actions for awareness and access to information. Among these resources, the CELAD's 360º virtual reality doping control simulator stands out, available on the official ASOBAL website, which allows athletes to familiarize themselves in an immersive way with the real procedure and better understand their guarantees.

In addition, in collaboration with CELAD, ASOBAL has made available to all players from the professional league clubs the ‘Survey on training in doping prevention’, driven by the Doping Prevention Policy Department of the Commission. This initiative will allow to know the degree of knowledge, scope and usefulness of the training actions given, helping to improve educational programs and their dissemination among the professional handball community. Participation is completely anonymous and will contribute to designing more effective strategies for health protection and the promotion of fair play.

In this context, ASOBAL also integrates these actions within the project ASOBAL Legacy League (ALL), its roadmap towards a more responsible and sustainable competition. The ALL aligns, among others, with the principles marked by the Sustainable Development Goals related to health, well-being and equality, and collaboration with CELAD strengthens this commitment. By promoting an environment based on player protection, equity and respect for the rules, ASOBAL moves towards a sustainable competition from within the court and reaffirms its commitment to a safe, integral handball, committed to its sports community.
