On the occasion of International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, commemorated on November 25, ASOBAL and its clubs actively participated in the campaign "Sport against gender violence", promoted by the Superior Council of Sports (CSD) and the Secretary of State for Equality and for the Eradication of Violence against Women. This initiative mobilized the entire Spanish sports ecosystem, and together with the rest of the professional leagues, ASOBAL acted as a large megaphone for the campaign, integrating it into its matches and helping to amplify the message of equality and respect throughout the handball community.
During the days of November 21, 22 and 23, the professional league of Spanish handball and its clubs brought the "Sport against gender violence" campaign to all matches of Matchday 10 of the NEXUS ENERGY ASOBAL League. Before the start of the matches, a minute of silence was held in memory of the victims, the team captains wore purple armbands and the campaign banner was displayed, while all broadcasts included the purple ribbon, extending the visibility of the initiative beyond the pavilions.
Also, the league's and clubs' social networks disseminated content with the hashtag #Sport25N, connecting with the fan community and reinforcing the values of respect and coexistence promoted by professional handball.
ASOBAL's and its clubs' participation in the 25N campaign reflects the continuity of their social commitment, driven from the ASOBAL Legacy League (ALL), a structuring project of the league that promotes social, economic, governance and environmental sustainability and which, aligned with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, includes gender equality as one of its fundamental pillars. This commitment is reflected not only in their involvement in the Matchday 10 games, but also in their own initiatives developed by the clubs before and after the matchday, which amplify the message of equality and reinforce the positive contribution of handball, specifically, and to society in general.
