The Spanish Professional Handball Clubs League – ASOBAL and the Institute of Advanced Studies in Applied Sports Sciences (ICAD) have signed a framework cooperation agreement aimed at promoting joint initiatives in training, research, and the transfer of knowledge applied to professional handball.
The agreement will create new development opportunities for professionals linked to the competition, drive research projects focused on the real needs of the sport, and strengthen the connection between the academic field and handball. Likewise, both entities will collaborate in organizing training activities, courses, and specialized seminars aimed at fostering ongoing professional development within the ASOBAL ecosystem.
The collaboration between ASOBAL and ICAD is part of the strategy to evolve and strengthen the professional model of Spanish handball, based on innovation, training, and the application of knowledge as key elements for the development of the competition.
In recent years, ASOBAL has consolidated this line of work through initiatives such as the ASOBAL Legacy League (ALL), aimed at promoting the sustainable development of the competition and its clubs; the ASOBAL Hub, conceived as internal spaces for training, analysis, and collaboration between the competition and member clubs; and various training sessions organized alongside other entities to foster the professional growth of the different agents linked to handball.
