ASOBAL and Ecoembes successfully close the campaign 'We are special, we recycle' in Granollers.

ASOBAL and Ecoembes have closed the campaign 'Somos especiales, reciclamos' with the delivery of a check worth 5,000 euros to the Foundation of Club BM. Granollers, which will allocate this amount to the Magics BM Granollers team, the inclusive white-and-blue team that promotes the practice of handball among people with functional diversity. The first activity framed in the collaboration agreement between the two entities -with the aim of promoting recycling and sustainability habits among the competition's audience- has been a success, meeting the challenges and objectives set.

The action, carried out with the close collaboration of Club BM. Granollers, has also involved the fans of the ASOBAL League during three matches held at the Palau d'Esports de Granollers (April 27, May 17 and June 1). At each of them, dynamization activities have been organized to promote the recycling of packaging among the public. Among them stand out challenges for couples in which the participants had to correctly introduce waste into goals identified with the colors of the yellow container -plastic, metal and brick packaging- and blue -paper and cardboard.

The digital campaign, the second vertical of the project, has featured the participation of several players from the first team from Vallès such as Víctor Romero, Pablo Guijarro, Pablo Urdangarín or Tarcisio Freitas, starring in videos with recycling challenges that have been disseminated through social networks. The results have far exceeded the interactions and engagement initially set, a tangible basis of the challenge to be met. "The campaign has shown that the power of sport can also serve to inspire responsible and supportive habits. From Ecoembes, we are very proud to have collaborated with ASOBAL and the Club Balonmano Granollers in this initiative that combines the care of the planet with social commitment", Dorleta Vicente, ESG director at Ecoembes, has highlighted.

First campaign of a solid project

"This type of actions are very important for the ASOBAL League to transcend what happens on the court", emphasizes the president of ASOBAL, Servando Revuelta. "The results of this campaign demonstrate the value of linking us to an entity as recognized in sustainability matters as Ecoembes. Those are the synergies that give meaning to the ASOBAL Legacy League project. We must thank the work done by Ecoembes and Club Balonmano Granollers, with an essential role in the execution and staging", adds the head of the elite of Spanish men's handball clubs.

In this line, Alfred Serra, president of Club BM. Granollers, has celebrated the success of the campaign organized in the facilities of the entity. "We are very happy to have participated in the initiative 'Som especials, reciclem'. Through this campaign, we have had the opportunity to raise awareness among our fans and promote recycling and sustainability habits in our pavilion. We are convinced that sport can and must be a motor of positive change, both on and off the court. This campaign is just another step in our commitment to sustainability in promoting a more conscious and committed society with the planet", he commented.

The initiative has also had the support of the Granollers City Council and the Waste Agency of Catalonia. The 'Somos especiales, reciclamos' campaign continues its journey through other ASOBAL clubs with the aim of continuing to promote the values of recycling, solidarity and sustainability on and off the courts, following the ASOBAL Legacy League program.
