The Spanish Professional Handball Clubs League – ASOBAL and the State Agency Spanish Commission for the Fight Against Doping in Sport (CELAD) continue to strengthen their collaboration to promote integrity and fair play in professional handball through training initiatives aimed at ASOBAL club professionals. In this context, both entities held the first training session of the 2026/27 season this Wednesday, November 4, conducted online. The event is part of the collaboration agreement maintained by both institutions and continues the joint training and awareness program launched to reinforce knowledge of anti-doping regulations in professional handball.
These training actions aim to provide the various club groups with the tools and knowledge necessary to assume their responsibilities regarding anti-doping, prevent potential risk situations, and contribute to sustainable and responsible sports practice. Their development aligns with ASOBAL’s commitment to sustainability in governance, within the framework of the ASOBAL Legacy League (ALL), an initiative that articulates the organization’s commitment to a sustainability model that also considers social and environmental dimensions.
During the session, the planned changes to the anti-doping regulations for 2027 were addressed, with the entry into force of the new World Anti-Doping Code (WADC) and its corresponding international standards. The update of the regulatory framework makes it necessary for clubs to be aware in advance of the new developments and their implications, thus facilitating their preparation and adaptation to the new requirements.
