The ASOBAL League presents ‘ASOBAL Fantasy’, the first online game in 'manager' format in the history of elite Spanish handball, which will allow fans to step into the shoes of a sports director of the Plenitude League and demonstrate their mastery of the 40x20 during the second half of the 2023/2024 season. ASOBAL, in this way, expands its footprint in the 2.0 plane, improving its leisure offer and defining a new way to experience professional sport firsthand.
Through the platform's website (link also available on the ASOBAL portal and its social networks) and once a profile has been created, users will make up their templates and become part of the same competition, governed by a scoring system linked to the statistical performance of the players (goals, assists, missed shots, stops or exclusions, among other parameters) and their teams in the Plenitude League (wins, losses and draws) and their players.
Each 'ASOBAL Fantasy' manager will have a fixed initial budget that they must distribute in the most skillful way to define their best starting seven, with two wingers, two sides, one center, one pivot and one goalkeeper, and up to 4 substitutes, who can not score more than 50% of their value for being on the bench. To elaborate the selection process, the market value assigned to each player in the Plenitude League -based on objective elements such as trajectory, international appearances, previous years' statistics, role in their team, age, etc.-, the form states -which will modify the prices as the competition progresses- or the ability to detect future cracks that ensure high performance in exchange for a low economic outlay must be considered.
Each user can make changes up to an hour before the start of the first match of the day, either in substitution format -between starters and substitutes- or by going to the transfer market. The score generated by each team member will be added up and compared with that of the rest of the players in the 'ASOBAL Fantasy', which will organize the data in a general classification. Being the best among the experts of the current events of the Plenitude League will have a prize. The winning user will take home the shirt of their ASOBAL team and the second and third classified will win the official Hummel ball of the first category of state handball.
