A 'Match of the Week' at O Gatañal with final-like stakes to close an outstanding Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL season

The Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL reaches its final matchday this weekend, a great finale to close a season marked by equality, talent, and competitiveness among 16 teams that have delivered an outstanding ASOBAL handball spectacle. The Tubos Aranda Villa de Aranda-ABANCA Ademar León match (Saturday 8pm, LALIGA+) will open the competition's last act. The Santiago Manguán will bid farewell to its players against León’s team after mathematically securing their stay last week, with their duties done.

After the clash in Aranda, the ASOBAL Community will experience a unified matchday format on Sunday (6pm, all live on LALIGA+), with special attention on the 'Match of Matchday 30' between Frigoríficos del Morrazo and Cajasol Ángel Ximénez Puente Genil, which has the feel of a final (live on Teledeporte and LALIGA+). The two teams, separated by just one point, are fighting to avoid 14th place and, therefore, the end-of-season 'play-down'. Staying in Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL is the prize for 60 minutes that promise to be a top-level celebration at O Gatañal, which will feature the last edition of the 'Reportero ASOBAL' initiative of this season. 

With the same standing as the Pontanos, Viveros Herol BM. Nava is the third team fully involved in this battle. They will play for their ASOBAL handball continuity at the Huerta del Rey against Recoletas At. Valladolid. A highly demanding visit, with the 'Blue Gladiators' fans aiming to end the year in the best way to keep their sixth position and pay tribute to Miguel Camino, who will hang up the Pucela jersey this Sunday. 

Match between the two best teams at the top

The excitement at the top of the table will be led by the clash between Dicorpebal Logroño La Rioja and Barça, the two best teams of the season, who will test their competitive edge and talent to close the Liga NEXUS ENERGÍA ASOBAL, already with the runner-up and champion titles in their cabinets, respectively. From there, the focus will be on the third place in the professional competition.

Fraikin BM. Granollers, currently occupying that spot, will host BM. Caserío Ciudad Real in a match that will feature ASOBAL handball excitement on the court and an activation program to guarantee a great spectacle, also in the stands. IRUDEK Bidasoa Irun, fourth, one point behind the blanc-i-blaus, will travel to El Sargal to face REBI Balonmano Cuenca, who must win if they want to keep their hopes of reaching the bronze this season alive. 

Bathco BM. Torrelavega, fifth, will host SANICENTRO BM. Guadalajara, already a División de Honor Plata team. The same situation applies to Bada Huesca, who confirmed their relegation after last week’s defeat and will close their season away against HORNEO BM. Alicante, one of the most in-form teams in the second half of the professional competition.
